Description

The Native Arts of the Americas collection at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields encompasses over 1,700 objects, dated from 5000 BCE to the present. The collection ranges in cultures, materials, object type, and available provenance information.

The Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields is committed to correctly attributing groups and cultures that created the objects in its Native Arts of the Americas collection, and collaborating with communities to inform the use and reuse of digital surrogates.
